Freedom of Information & Privacy Act
- FOIA/Privacy Act Processing – Serve as the point of contact on FOIA/Privacy Act requests; coordinate all document searches and responses; review responsive documents for exemptions and exclusions; prepare requisite correspondence; provide expert guidance and recommendations to management and staff; communicate orally and in writing with all stakeholders; track status of each FOIA request; coordinate fee payments; maintain FOIA records; and assist agency staff in meetings pertaining to FOIA.
- FOIA Administrative Appeals and Litigation – Assist agency appeals staff with gathering all initial response documentation and communications; assist with the appeal process; assist with FOIA litigation, including document production and creation of Vaughn Indexes.
- FOIA Program Management and Administration – Develop, implement, and maintain efficient, effective, and “green” FIOA processes, procedures, and document retention methods; assist with development of FOIA policies, standard operating procedures, guides, and contract language; design and develop FOIA status tracking systems; design and develop reports (periodic and annual, as required by the FOIA); conduct surge processing (i.e., rapid backlog reduction); develop and conduct FOIA training; establish and maintain virtual Reading Room programs; develop and implement FOIA best practices; research and report on FOIA-related issues; conduct efficiency and compliance studies and analyses; and conduct ad hoc FOIA consulting services.
