Gustavo A. Calderón founded Compass Systems Consulting, Inc. on January 20, 1998 following an experience-rich thirteen-year career with Bechtel, Accenture, Headstrong, and Cap Gemini. Gustavo is a highly-qualified management consultant with over twenty-two years of progressive responsibility and experience managing large-scale and complex information systems implementation projects. He has led enterprise-wide projects including Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), and web-based application deployments. Gustavo's professional forte is grounded on his deep knowledge of multi-industry business processes, effective use of information technology, application of leading Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, and his strong background in Project Management.
Gustavo's multi-industry and multi-disciplinary “Big 4 Consulting” background uniquely qualifies him to lead a wide range of IT systems implementation and business transformation projects. One of Gustavo's core capabilities is the recovery of troubled projects. Gustavo attributes much of his success on his ability to draw from his vast project-based consulting experience spanning many industries, including: Gas & Electric Utilities, Telecommunications, Chemicals, Launch Vehicles (Rocket) Manufacturing, Insurance, Hi-Tech, Consumer Retail, and Government.
Gustavo has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since October 1998. He expanded his project management capabilities by completing the rigorous Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM) Program in August 2004. Gustavo also completed the Villanova Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Program in December 2004. Gustavo teaches Project Management and Earned Value Management as an instructor with ESI International, Inc. and he is also an adjunct professor of Business and Management at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC.) |
